What does this site sell?

We are selling used helicopters which were previously owned by Japanese commercial and government operators, such as Police, Fire Department and Coast Guard. Previous operations of those helicopters were mainly police activity, fire-fighting, SAR (search and rescue), heavy lifting, VIP transport, etc.

Are all helicopters available for immediate purchase?

Usually no. All the government helicopters come out for sale by tender. We catch such tender information and schedule, and we work with you to place the best bid.

What is the process to buy a helicopter?

  1. As soon as we catch information about the upcoming tender, we will release such news on our website as a preliminary information. Please contact us via email if you are already interested in the helicopter(s) expected to come out.
  2. Once the tender is officially announced, we will post the helicopter information along with the tender schedule on our website. You MUST contact us at this point to participate in the tender with us. Once we get in contact, detailed schedule and expected minimum price etc. shall be discussed.
  3. We will place the bid and wait for the result.

Why do some listings not have prices?

As explained in #3, many helicopters come out for sale by tender.

How many bids do I get to place?

Just once per aircraft. A lot of analysis takes place to generate a bid to ensure that it is won with the smallest margin possible.

Once we’ve settled on a bid for government auction, we use our status with the Japanese government as an accepted rotorcraft purchaser to fill in the bidding form and submit it before the deadline.

How long is it from the tender announcement to the bidding deadline?

3-5 weeks on average.

How should I bring the helicopter to my place? Can I fly it?

We fully support the logistics. We recommend cargo vessel (container, RORO, LOLO) or air transport, depending on your destination. You can also fly it away, but it depends on your destination and government tender requirement.
